Under Pressure - An Introduction to Printmaking
Susan and Sue will combine their printmaking knowledge to guide you through a number of modern and experimental approaches to printmaking. A small press will be available, but the focus will be on methods that can be used at home without specialist equipment. You will take home a range of small works following the theme 'The Beach' (or a theme of your choice).
Most materials will be supplied but please bring:
- Pencil, eraser, ruler, scissors
- Craft knife/scalpel
- Apron/old shirt
- Disposable gloves
- Old phone book if you have one - for inking up
- Any printmaking equipment that you already have - brayers (rollers), cutting tools - but don't go out and buy any!
Also bring along any ideas or objects around the theme of 'The Beach' that you may like to use as a starting point for a print. If you have a different theme that you would like to follow, that is fine.
